The Viewbar is a one inch strip that usually runs above or below your browser window. Some "float" meaning that they can be put anywhere you want them to go. They sit and and advertise at you while you are browsing, chatting, writing mail and generally doing most things online. In return for using a company's viewbar, you get paid per hour or in some cases, a percentage of what the company made on the advertisements. It's non-intrusive and does not affect your screen at all. Just remember to stay active! Although it would be nice to be paid for just leaving it up and walking away, it doesn't work like that. Most programs shut down if they do not detect movement for more than 10 minutes some give you 1/2 hour.

The payment works differently from company to company but on average works from 40 - 50 cents an hour. It doesn't seem like much but it's better than getting nothing to do the same thing you were going to do anyways! You can up hour hourly wage by getting an extensive downline. Alladvantage has given out 10 million dollars already and being the oldest (one year!) is now signing cheques up to $1000 a month to some members!

The downline consists mostly of your friends and family but can really include anyone. The companies don't advertise, they pay you to advertise for them. What this means is when someone you know joins a company you told them about, you get a referal. You get credited with telling them, and you get paid for the hours they surf. It's not as much as you get for your surfing time but it all adds up.
So let's give you an example. You tell your mom. She gets an account and you get what is called a direct refferal, it usually pays the most. Mom tells Aunt Edna and she signs up, you get money for your mother (direct referal) AND for you mom telling Aunt Edna (indirect). It works in a line and that is why it's called a downline.
Usually you have to use the viewbars as much as your referals or you don't get paid the extra time they surf. So if mom surfs the full 40 hours a month but you only surf 20, you only get creditted with 20 of her hours.
Please also keep in mind that ALL PAYMENTS ARE IN AMERICAN DOLLARS. Some send you cheques having already exchanged the currency to your country's currency but the money logged in your account is in US dollars and you will get paid the going exchange rate for it.

So you want to get yourself a viewbar and you want to tell the world so you can get referals. Great!
You'll send out mass emails and form leters to people and go to every newsgroup and tell them about the great thing you just found! Right?
WRONG!
This is SPAM and every company out there has major policies about spam. If you are caught sending out unsolicited junkmail to newsgroups and people you don't know, and you get caught, say goodbye to your money. You lose every cent you have accumilated and will not be able to get another viewbar from that company. See my tips and hints page for information about how to get the word out without spamming.
